Growing our Own Compost

Composter in our community garden

At last - a composter in our community garden.  The children in Little Treasures community crèche are eating even more fresh vegetables and fruit than before, thanks to North Wall CDP's inclusion in the Hot Meals pilot.  The composter will help dispose of peelings and reduce bin charges.  It will also supply rich, home-made  compost for our gardening ladies.

A big thank you to Jason of St. Laurence O'Toole Recreation Centre for giving us the thumbs up. And to staff member Emmanuel who helped prepare the site and will supervise the composting process going forward. Also to our helpful neighbour Tara who lent the necessary tools. It's a win-win situation.
