Docklands Community Day
On Thursday 10th November, the Central Bank of Ireland hosted Docklands Community Day. It was an in-person event attended by a number of local community organisations. The Central Bank is committed to being a socially responsible organisation and a good neighbour to the Docklands community. North Wall CDP is delighted to one of their community partners.
Ann Murphy, our General Manager, presented an overview of the activities that North Wall CDP engages in.
Community discusses the Lido
North Wall CDP is engaging in a process of consultation and friendship-building with the @georgesdocklidodublin campaign in the @dogpatchlabs studio.
There's genuine excitement for Lido pool plan and the benefits it could bring to our local community. Here's the discussion underway last Friday afternoon. Our thanks to the organisers.
Tree of Hope lighting ceremony - don't forget!
Thursday 1st December is a special day for Sheriff Street and our wider community.
Come and see the Tree of Hope being lit at 5.30pm!
We're looking forward to it.
Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness
We were delighted to raise €1,100 for two fantastic breast cancer charities at our North Wall CDP coffee morning this October.
Here's our Tina handing over two €550 cheques, the first to Linda Keating of the Marie Keating Foundation. Linda recently visited our offices where we had a great chat about her charity's work and local lad Stephen Gately, a co-lead singer and founder of Boyzone (together with Linda's brother, Ronan Keating, of course).
New football course
Thinking of a career in sport? Here's another great opportunity from North Wall CDP.
Our Local Training Initiative (LTI) team have teamed up with League of Ireland team Bohs F.C. to offer a 44-week course in Sport, Recreation and Exercise. This is a QQI level 5 course, packed with different activities - coaching skills, outdoor trips and multi-sport workshops. And you'll get a training and meal allowance. Classes will be held in National College of Ireland, Mayor Square, Dublin 1. The course kicks off on 9th January 2023.
Little Treasures scary day
Our children (and staff it must be said!) love dressing up. So today was a fun day at Little Treasures Community Crèche. We had batmen and a few witches, complete with masks, hats and special effects. For many weeks NWCDP and its community partners have been planning the Big Scream that will take places on Monday 31st October.
You might see these little people at the parade - you've been warned!
Happy Hallow'een...
Breast Cancer Awareness Coffee Morning - A great success!
Rain could not dampen North Wall CDP's annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser/coffee morning last Friday (21st October). It was our first since Covid lockdown. What a great buzz on Sheriff street - friends and community members all rallied! We're so grateful for all the support, and want to thank the local businesses and people who donated spot prizes, money and refreshments on the day. And our staff who made this event happen.
Coffee morning at North Wall CDP
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month - that's a big deal for us at North Wall CDP. This Friday (21st October) we're hosting our annual coffee morning. It's a chance to gather, chat and support friends and family who are living with cancer or have experienced it in the past. We'll be holding our raffle as well - proceeds will be shared by Breast Cancer Ireland and the Marie Keating Foundation. Our event starts at Noon.
